This DIP-40 to PLCC-44 socket adapter has been wired specifically for the PIC16C74 series microprocessors from Microchip. All pins are available at the top for probing and the 4 PLCC package no-connects have been left off the DIP pattern to reduce the length to a minimum.  The DIP pinout is the same as the 40 pin processor package.

Pins from the PLCC socket are routed to the DIP socket to minimize length and wide traces on both sides of the transition board minimize the conductor resistance.

The PLCC connector is a high quality, precision injection molded or epoxy potted unit and the DIP socket is gold plated machine pin unit that will accept both the windowed cer-dip package and the emulator plug. This unit is built tough and will withstand thousands of insertions.
